Code of Conduct & Ethics
Purpose of the Code is to establish clear expectations for conduct and behavior that align with the values and objectives of the PFA. The code is applicable to all PFA directors and PFA member country representatives. Additionally, the code is encouraged for all athletes, coaches, staff, officials, and volunteers participating in conjunction with the various PFA member countries.
1. Respect and Fairness
- Treat all individuals with respect, regardless of race, age, gender, disability, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
- Promote fairness and equality in all activities and competitions.
- Avoid any form of harassment, bullying, or abuse, whether physical, emotional, or psychological.
2. Integrity and Honesty
- Uphold high standards of integrity and honesty.
- Refrain from engaging in fraud, deception, or any illegal activities.
- Report any observed unethical behavior or violations of this code.
3. Sportsmanship and Competitiveness
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
- Compete with a spirit of fairness and respect for opponents.
- Accept both victory and defeat with grace and dignity.
4. Compliance with Rules and Regulations
- Adhere to all rules and regulations of the sport and the federation.
- Respect decisions made by officials and address disputes through appropriate channels.
5. Health and Safety
- Prioritize personal health and safety, as well as that of others.
- Avoid any behavior that endangers the physical or mental well-being of anyone involved in the sport.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy
- Respect the confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information related to athletes, staff, and the federation.
- Do not disclose confidential information without proper authorization.
7. Use of Federation Property and Resources
- Use federation property and resources responsibly and only for their intended purposes.
- Avoid wastage or misuse of resources.
8. Reporting and Accountability
- Report any violations of this code of conduct.
- Cooperate in investigations related to breaches of conduct.
- Be accountable for one’s actions and accept consequences of any violations.
